Democrat Platform

A presidential candidate went to a small town in the middle of nowhere when his tour car ran out of gas. As he went into the town to find a service station, he started shaking hands, talking to people and informing them he was running for president.

One man asked him, "And what party do you represent?"

He responded that he was a Republican.

The man responds, "Lord! A Republican! We've never seen one of them in these parts! Would you be willing to give a speech to our town while you're here?"

Being one for public outreach, the candidate says, "Sure. Do you have any platform or stage I could stand on?"

The man shook his head. "Sorry, sir. All we got is that big pile of manure over there by the loading truck. You could give your speech up there if you were willing."

So the candidate got up and walked over to stand on the pile while the whole town gathered around. They all watched as the man spoke, and they applauded when he finished.

"So, what did you think of my speech?" the candidate asked.

"It was amazin! That was the first time any of us have ever seen a Republican speak!"

The candidate responds, "Well that was the first time I've given a speech from a Democratic Platform."
